This week has been goddamn exhausting, but I delivered a sketchbook for design week events that seems to have gone over well. I have no voice left. So I took this morning to draw a red car, old-school-style, make some ramen with the beef stock I made on Sunday, and hopefully recover quickly.
Hope y’all are gonna have a great weekend.

Reminds me of an FD RX-7 crossed with the rear section of an Alpine A110.

Step 1 in feeling better: stop stressing out about things that need to be delivered (done- shit was delivered). Step 2: get some sleep (partially done). Step 3: eat (I make badass stock, and I’m cooking it up with noodles and bok choy now)
Step 4: Stop having to talk. I have no voice today, though my daughter loves my “IN A WORLD...” movie-trailer voice.

Step 5: if you have a little time, try to remember how to draw and design stuff.

Oh, I bet it’s good (both the stock and the voice). I won’t go into the ridiculous voice my kids always make me do - haha.

YES. I just started talks with a good friend who’s an author; we’re going to be working on an “
imprint” logo
and some book covers together. Looking forward to it.

Was kinda thinking about an FD X
Cosmo— it’s too long to be an RX7.
Mostly I just celebrated taking 2 hrs to draw, render a red car, and try to remember how to do stuff.
Also, I’m really starting to dig doing animated sketches. Not sure how to make it business-viable, but it’s good learning about process and cross-platforming output.

Hope you can de- stress. Lovely design , this is what a new RX7 should look like.

I love this design, probably my favorite that you’ve posted here.

Nice! I had four people tell me yesterday that I need to publish a sketchbook. People keep pushing me to publish shit and sell it, I’m not sure whether it’s just nerves that make me reluctant, or the time that it would take, or what.

Too big for an RX7, not fancy enough for a Cosmo... I dunno

Thanks so much!

And then Raph
posts this on the FP
:
COINCIDENCE???
...yep

I just assumed in the transition from concept to production that it would lose a foot of wheelbase ;) A new Cosmo would be spectacular, though!

We all know the FP never gets ideas here, that’s crazy talk!

Well, I mean, it’s really hard to beat this:
A new Cosmo woul be a different thing. I didn’t have any intent with this one other than try to relax, try to draw a red car.

Hope it worked for you, it sure looks great to me. I’d forgotten all about that Mazda concept , it is a stunner.

Get well.

Looks pretty similar to the very pretty RX-Vision concept.

Yep.

Actually upon further reflection you basically drew the Mazda RX-VISION concept .

Yeah,
except that’s better. See my other comments.

That’s definitely a big undertaking, but would be a cool project.

Looks great, I like the rear end in particular.
I’ve been sketching quite a bit lately . Nothing like your level, since I never went to design school or anything, but maybe I should post some of them one of these days.
